Higgsfield Pricing: 5 to 35 Credits per 5-Second Clip

We sent one prompt to seven Higgsfield video models and read the charges in the ledger. A 5-second clip cost 5 to 35 credits, the cheapest model passed twice, and unused plan credits expire. Credits per video, cost per plan and what 1,000 credits really buy.

Why trust this: every result, number and screenshot comes from a real run on our own accounts, not from the AI. How we test

Higgsfield sells credits, but you are really buying seconds of video, and the price depends almost entirely on the model. We sent one prompt to seven video models on our paid Plus plan and read every charge in the ledger. A 5-second 720p clip cost 5 to 35 credits, and the cheapest model passed our check twice out of two. Higgsfield says 1,000 credits is about 200 Kling 3.0 videos; our clip cost 10 credits, which makes 100.

Measured on 2 Nov 2026 on a Higgsfield Plus plan (49 USD a month, paid since 3 Oct), through Higgsfield's official MCP connection. Plan prices were read the same day from the plan data that connection returns and from Higgsfield's pricing guide, dated 24 Oct 2026; higgsfield.ai/pricing itself draws its table in the browser and would not load in a plain fetch. The terms were read the same day; they were last updated 23 Oct 2026.

At a glance

Key results

  • A 5-second clip costs 5 to 35 credits. At the Plus monthly rate of 4.9 cents a credit, that is 0.25 to 1.72 USD. Seedance 2.0 Mini and Grok Video 1.5 Lite cost 5; Seedance 2.5 cost 35.
  • The quote matched the bill. All 12 clips were charged exactly what get_cost quoted, and the balance fell by the sum.
  • Sound is a line item on Kling 3.0. Sound on cost 10 credits, sound off cost 7.5.
  • "~200 Kling 3.0 videos" did not match our default clip. Plus gave us 1,000 credits, which is 100 clips at 10 credits or about 133 silent ones. 200 clips would need 5 credits each, which is what the cheapest two models cost, not Kling 3.0.
  • Price did not predict the result in this test. Four of 10 clips passed. Passes came at 5, 10 and 35 credits. Kling 4.0, at 11.25, failed.
  • Unused credits do not carry over. The terms say so plainly. Going into our renewal on 3 Nov, 313.07 of our 1,000 credits were still unspent, and the renewal wiped all of them.
  • "Unlimited" stops at the website. Higgsfield's help page says Unlimited and free generations apply only on higgsfield.ai. Through MCP, every clip and image in our ledger was charged.

Hands-on test

Setup

  • Account: Higgsfield Plus, monthly billing. 1,000 "Subscription Credits" were granted on 3 Oct 2026 (ledger entry).
  • Client: Claude Code calling Higgsfield's MCP tools from a Windows 11 PC (WSL). No web app, so we did not test whether web prices differ.
  • Prompt: "A single red paper airplane glides from left to right across a plain white desk and lands next to a blue notebook. Static camera, soft daylight. No people, no text."
  • Settings: 5 seconds, 720p, 16:9, each model's default options otherwise. Minimax Hailuo only offers 6 or 10 seconds, so it ran 6 seconds at 768p. Seedance 2.0 Mini and Grok Lite ran twice. That makes 10 clips; two more, with a Vietnamese voice line, were made for our Vietnamese edition and are not scored here.
  • Checks: credits from get_cost before each run, then the transactions ledger and balance after. Length and resolution from ffprobe.
  • Scoring: Claude, the AI assistant that ran this test, looked at five evenly spaced frames from each clip. It did not watch the clips in motion. A pass needed one red plane, left-to-right travel, a landing beside the notebook and a clean desk. This is a rough check of one prompt, not a quality ranking.
Ten rows of frames from real clips, with the credits charged and pass or fail for each model
Our run on 2 Nov 2026: frames from every clip, the credits the ledger charged, and the result. Seedance 2.0 Mini passed twice at 5 credits; Kling 4.0 and Hailuo failed

Credits per video, model by model

Dollar figures use Plus monthly: 49 USD for 1,000 credits. They exclude any tax.

Partial means the plane landed with its nose on the notebook, not beside it. Hailuo returned a jet-shaped plane and two notebooks. Kling 4.0 stood the plane on its nose. Both Grok runs started mid-frame and barely moved.

We also read quotes, without generating, for settings we did not run. All are for one clip:

Model and settingCredits quoted
Kling 3.0, 5 s, std / pro / 4K10 / 12.5 / 30
Kling 3.0, 10 s, std20
Seedance 2.5, 5 s, 480p / 720p / 1080p15 / 35 / 80

FLUX 3 Video, 5 s, 720p30
Cinema Studio 4.0, 5 s, 720p35
Marketing Studio Video, 15 s, 720p75

Length scaled in a straight line in those quotes. Resolution did not: on Seedance 2.5, 1080p costs about 2.3 times 720p. So test at low resolution and render the keeper at full size.

Images are far cheaper. GPT Image 2.5 was quoted 0.25 credits at the default and 1.5 at high quality. Nano Banana 2 was quoted 1.5.

Higgsfield's guide also lists Team at $79 and Scale at $215 per seat a month, with 1,000 and 2,500 credits per seat. It says Starter opens selected models only, and that commercial use starts at Starter. Plus and Ultra open every model.

Two things in that plan data did not add up for us. The Ultra badge says "70% cheaper", and it does not say cheaper than what; against Plus monthly, Ultra monthly is about 12% cheaper per credit and Ultra annual about 33%. And one part of the Plus entry lists 1,200 credits a month, while another lists 1,000. Our ledger shows a 1,000 grant.

Credits expire, and that changes the sum

Section 9.4 of the terms says subscription credits "do not roll over to subsequent billing periods". Higgsfield's credits help page says monthly plans reset at each paid renewal and annual plans every 30 days. Top-up credits last longer: section 9.6 gives them 90 days from purchase, and they are used after subscription credits.

We ran the sum on ourselves. We mostly generate cover images, at 0.25 credits each. At the end of our first paid month, 425.82 credits were still unspent before this test, equal to about 43% of the grant, or 20.87 USD of a 49 USD bill. This test used 112.25 of them.

The renewal settled it. At 07:50 UTC on 3 Nov our ledger shows a "Subscription Credits Reset" that removed the 313.07 credits we had left, and in the same second a fresh grant of 1,000. The balance afterwards read exactly 1,000, so none of the old credits came across. At 4.9 cents a credit, that is about 15.34 USD of last month's bill gone.

Credit pricing hides the same kind of gap elsewhere: our ElevenLabs pricing test found one model doubling the minutes per credit.

The other line to read before paying is refunds. Section 9.3 allows a refund request within seven days of the initial purchase, only if no credits have been used, and it does not cover renewals. Top-ups are refundable only if none of that purchase's credits were used. We did not request one.

What worked

What worked

  • get_cost quoted every model without spending, so you can price a whole shot list first.
  • The ledger names the model and the exact credits for each job, so a month's spend can be audited line by line.
  • The 10 clips, submitted together, all finished in under three minutes. Plus lists up to 6 videos at once.

Where it fell short

What didn't work

  • The public pricing page would not load without a browser, so anyone scripting a price check needs the MCP data or a real browser.
  • One prompt and at most two runs per model. A plain paper plane says nothing about faces, hands or long camera moves, where the dearer models may earn their price.
  • We did not listen to the audio of the first 10 clips, only confirmed which had a sound track. Hailuo and silent Kling had none.
  • A generation failure was not part of this test. Higgsfield says failed generations are usually refunded automatically, while a finished clip you dislike is not, and our ledger does show a 2.75-credit image refund on 29 Oct.

Our verdict

Plus is worth paying for if you will spend most of the 1,000 credits every month. Below that, you are paying for credits that vanish, as we did. If you plan to rely on Unlimited, generate on the website: through MCP or the CLI it does not apply. Budget in cost per usable clip, not in Higgsfield's "videos": 100 Kling 3.0 clips with sound, not 200. Start every new shot on Seedance 2.0 Mini at 5 credits, and move up only if it fails your brief. Seedance 2.5 at 35 credits has to prove itself on your own footage, because on this prompt it did nothing Mini did not. Don't buy Ultra for the "70% cheaper" badge; work out your own rate per credit first.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Higgsfield cost?

Starter is 15 USD a month for 200 credits. Plus is 49 a month or 39 billed annually, for 1,000 credits. Ultra is 129 a month or 99 billed annually, for 3,000 credits. Those were Higgsfield's figures on 2 Nov 2026, before any tax.

How many credits does a Higgsfield video cost?

In our test a 5-second 720p clip cost 5 credits on Seedance 2.0 Mini, 10 on Kling 3.0 with sound and 35 on Seedance 2.5. Twice the length costs twice the credits in the quotes we read.

How many videos do you get with 1,000 Higgsfield credits?

About 200 at 5 credits, 100 on Kling 3.0 with sound and 28 on Seedance 2.5, for 5-second clips. Retakes come out of the same credits.

Do Higgsfield credits roll over?

Subscription credits do not, according to section 9.4 of the terms. Top-up credits last 90 days from purchase.

Is Higgsfield worth it for occasional use?

Not on Plus if you use well under the allowance: we left about 43% unspent in our first month. Starter's 200 credits cost 15 USD, but it opens selected models only, so check that yours is included.

DuckDB 2.0 on a CSV too big for Excel: 3 million rows queried in 0.2 seconds

We ran DuckDB 2.0.0 on the day after release against a synthetic 3,000,000-row, 123 MB CSV, almost three times Excel's 1,048,576-row limit. A GROUP BY took 0.17 to 0.22 seconds, against 4.04 seconds for a plain Python csv loop that returned the same totals to the cent. One 2.0 API change broke our script.
